Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) is concluding today’s trading session on a negative note, as the KMI-30 index is witnessing a significant decline amid selling pressure across key sectors.

The market is opening at 219,257.00 points and is briefly climbing to an intraday high of 219,955.92. However, sustained selling activity is pushing the index downward, touching a low of 215,917.96 before settling at 219,130.92 points by the close.

Overall, the KMI-30 index is dropping by 2,553.50 points, reflecting a -1.15% decline, indicating cautious investor sentiment in the market.

Market participation is remaining moderate, with index constituent volume recorded at 66.08 million shares, showing selective trading activity.

On a broader scale, the fiscal year-to-date (FYTD) performance is still reflecting a positive trend of 18.52%, while the calendar year-to-date (CYTD) is standing in negative territory at -11.83%, highlighting recent market corrections.

Among the top performers, FFC and PRL are contributing positively, adding 17.60 and 3.15 points, respectively. However, heavyweights including ENGRO, PPL, MEBL, EFERT, and OGDC are dragging the index significantly lower.

The PSX is concluding today’s session under pressure, reflecting a cautious outlook among investors amid ongoing economic uncertainties.
