Islamabad: The federal government has saved the people from a major storm of inflation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has categorically rejected the recent summary of Rs50 per liter hike in petrol price and ordered to maintain prices at the current level.
According to sources, the relevant authorities had proposed an extraordinary increase in the prices of petroleum products, the aim of which was to transfer the effects of the global market to the local level. However, the Prime Minister rejected this proposal and called it an “Eid gift for the people”. He said that it is not appropriate to put more financial burden on the people during the Eid festivities, so the government will bear this burden itself.
As a result of this decision, it is expected that transport fares and food prices will remain stable during the Eid days.
Citizens have appreciated this move of the Prime Minister and termed it a timely and public relief decision, which will provide great convenience to the middle class in Eid shopping and travel expenses.
