Pakistan establishes first government Bitcoin reserve, Bilal bin Saqib’s big announcement

Islamabad— Pakistan has taken a major step towards the crypto revolution by announcing the establishment of its first government Bitcoin reserve. The announcement was made at Bitcoin Vegas 2025, where Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Blockchain and Crypto Bilal bin Saqib prominently highlighted Pakistan’s progress towards a digital future.

Bilal bin Saqib said in his address that there are 40 million crypto wallets in Pakistan and the country will soon play a central role in the global crypto landscape. He also announced the establishment of a national Bitcoin wallet, which will host crypto assets held by the state.

He also thanked former US President Donald Trump, who not only played a role in peace efforts in the region but also encouraged Pakistan in the global process of crypto adoption.

The government has allocated 2000 MW of electricity to activate crypto mining and AI data centers at the government level, which is a major economic and technological step.
