Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has succeeded in exceeding the target by collecting more than Rs754 billion revenue in the month of July, turning the beginning of the fiscal year 2025-26 into a successful chapter.
According to the FBR, the target set for July 2025 was Rs 748 billion, but the agency not only surpassed this target but also generated an additional revenue of Rs 6.4 billion, showing a performance of 100.9%.
Importantly, the FBR issued refunds of Rs 81 billion in July, which is an indication of improved cash flow for the business community.
As per the details:
- Rs 297 billion in income tax
- Rs 304 billion in sales tax
- Rs 107 billion in customs duty
- Rs 46 billion under FDI
According to economic experts, this improvement in revenue in July is not only the result of the expansion of the tax net but also the effective use of technology, which will increase confidence in the government’s economic policy.
