Crude oil prices fell slightly in the global energy market on Tuesday, as investors adopted a cautious trading strategy, considering the news of possible diplomatic contacts and mediation between the United States and Iran as a positive sign.

In the international market, the price of Brent crude oil fell 35 cents to $88.87 per barrel. The selling trend in the market came as reports began circulating that diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between the two countries may intensify.

In contrast, the September delivery contract of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) did not change significantly, and its price remained around $82.47 per barrel, indicating that investors are still waiting for a clear development.

Market experts say that oil trading is currently not limited to supply and demand, but the geopolitical situation is also having a profound impact on prices. According to them, if diplomatic efforts take shape, supply concerns in the Middle East may ease, which could put further pressure on crude oil.

Analysts also pointed out that global investors will be closely monitoring any official statements regarding the US and Iran, the security situation in the region and OPEC+ policies in the next few days, as these factors could determine the direction of oil prices in the coming sessions.

Although the current decline was limited, the general perception of the market is that the diplomatic prospects have temporarily reduced investor concerns, which has slowed down the recent rally in crude oil prices.
