LAHORE: Pakistan’s fertilizer market is under constant pressure from rising global input costs and local gas tariff dynamics. Urea prices have remained stable between Rs 4,350 and 4,400 per 50 kg bag, with brands like Sona and Engro at the lower end and Sarsab reaching Rs 4,649, even as the government extended gas supply to urea producers till June 30 to maintain supply stability.

DAP rates have also increased, with Sarsab listed at Rs 12,550-12,600 and top brands like Sona and Engro at Rs 12,600-12,640. Potassium fertilizer as SOP is around Rs 12,500-13,800 per bag, reflecting tight global margins amid expensive raw materials. Meanwhile, minor nutrients such as NP and CAN range from Rs 3,800 to 8,000, offering slightly cheaper, yet less prevalent, alternatives.
These prices are consistent with concerns of falling demand; urea consumption is down ~24% year-on-year, and there are calls from both farmers and industry groups for stronger subsidy mechanisms to reduce input inflation.
