حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا جُوَيْرِيَةُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَاصَلَ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَشَقَّ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَنَهَاهُمْ. قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ. قَالَ “ لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ، إِنِّي أَظَلُّ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى ”.
ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا ، کہا ہم سے جویریہ نے ، ان سے نافع نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ” صوم وصال “ رکھا تو صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم نے بھی رکھا لیکن صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم کے لیے دشواری ہو گئی ۔ اس لیے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے منع فرما دیا ، صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم نے اس پر عرض کی کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم صوم وصال رکھتے ہیں ؟ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا میں تمہاری طرح نہیں ہوں ۔ میں تو برابر کھلایا اور پلایا جاتا ہوں ۔
The Prophet (ﷺ) fasted for days continuously; the people also did the same but it was difficult for them. So, the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade them (to fast continuously for more than one day). They slid, “But you fast without break (no food was taken in the evening or in the morning).” The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, “I am not like you, for I am provided with food and drink (by Allah).
The following is the list of Islamic months.
1. Muharram
Urdu: محرم | Arabic: مُحَرَّم
Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. It is one of the four sacred months. The 10th day, Ashura, is very important in Islamic history.
2. Safar
Urdu: صفر | Arabic: صَفَر
Safar is the second Islamic month. There are no specific religious events, but Muslims continue their regular prayers and good deeds.
3. Rabi ul Awwal
Urdu: ربیع الاول | Arabic: ربيع الأول
This month is famous because Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in this month. Many Muslims celebrate Eid Milad un Nabi.
4. Rabi ul Thani
Urdu: ربیع الثانی | Arabic: ربيع الثاني
Rabi ul Thani is the fourth month of the Islamic calendar. It is also known as Rabi al-Akhir.
5. Jumada al Awwal
Urdu: جمادی الاول | Arabic: جمادى الأولى
This is the fifth Islamic month. It has historical importance in early Islamic events.
6. Jumada al Thani
Urdu: جمادی الثانی | Arabic: جمادى الآخرة
The sixth month of the Islamic calendar. It is also called Jumada al-Akhirah.
7. Rajab
Urdu: رجب | Arabic: رجب
Rajab is one of the four sacred months. Many Muslims increase worship during this month. Isra and Miraj is believed to have occurred in Rajab.
8. Shaban
Urdu: شعبان | Arabic: شعبان
Shaban comes before Ramadan. The 15th night, Shab e Barat, is observed by many Muslims with prayers.
9. Ramadan
Urdu: رمضان | Arabic: رمضان
Ramadan is the most sacred month. Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. The Quran was revealed in this month.
10. Shawwal
Urdu: شوال | Arabic: شوال
Shawwal begins with Eid ul Fitr. Muslims celebrate the end of Ramadan with prayers and family gatherings.
11. Dhul Qadah
Urdu: ذوالقعدہ | Arabic: ذو القعدة
Dhul Qadah is one of the sacred months. It is a time of peace and preparation for Hajj.
12. Dhul Hijjah
Urdu: ذوالحجہ | Arabic: ذو الحجة
Dhul Hijjah is the month of Hajj pilgrimage. Eid ul Adha is celebrated on the 10th of this month.
