Karachi: The third day of the trading week on the Pakistan Stock Exchange proved to be a negative day for investors. The market initially showed a positive trend but a sharp decline prevailed at the end of the day.

The benchmark 100 index reached a high of 149,237 points at one point, but this momentum could not be sustained due to heavy selling pressure. The index fell sharply and touched a low of 147,337 points.

At the end of trading, the 100 index closed at 147,494 points after a decline of 941 points. Today, 850 million shares were traded, worth more than Rs 29 billion.

Yesterday, the market closed at 148,435 points, while today’s decline has worried investors.
