Islamabad: The rains and floods across the country damaged 7,175 houses, many of which were completely destroyed, while farmers in rural areas have also suffered severely as 5,552 livestock have died.
The latest report by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has said that the total death toll has reached 799 and the number of injured has reached 1,080.
According to the data, the highest loss of life occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where 479 people lost their lives. 165 were reported in Punjab, 55 in Sindh, 24 in Balochistan, 45 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 23 in Azad Kashmir, while 8 deaths were reported in the federal capital Islamabad.
According to the report, one death was reported in Sindh and six people, including a man and five children, were injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the last 24 hours.
According to the NDMA, rescue and relief operations are ongoing and federal and provincial agencies are working together to provide assistance to the affected families.
