Lahore: Speaking at a training camp in Mansoora, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman expressed serious concern over the situation arising in the city after the rains. He said that crores and billions of rupees are allocated for cleaning drains, but the condition of the city remains the same.
He said that Karachi is called “Mini Pakistan”, but a system of corruption has been prevailing for the last 40 years and the corruption rate of up to 80 percent has deprived the citizens of basic facilities. Hafiz Naeem slammed the government institutions and the PPP leadership, saying, “Those who have brought fake mayors will have to answer to the people.”
He added that environmental changes are increasing rapidly, but due to the government’s inaction, urban problems are becoming more serious.
