Islamabad: After the price of crude oil in the global market has decreased, the possibility of a reduction in the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan has increased. According to the latest estimates, high-speed diesel may become cheaper by Rs 12 per liter and petrol by Rs 1 per liter from August 16.

Sources say that the price of kerosene is expected to decrease by Rs 6 and light diesel oil by Rs 7 per liter. OGRA will send a summary of the new prices to the Finance Ministry on August 15, where a detailed review of global market trends and import costs will be conducted.

The Finance Ministry will officially announce the new prices after the approval of the Prime Minister, which will be effective until August 31.

According to experts, this reduction may lead to a reduction in transportation costs and a temporary reduction in inflationary pressures.
