Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar has severely criticized former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, saying that his narrative on cryptocurrency seems like India, and it reflects an agenda against Pakistan.
Speaking to the media, Atta Tarar said, “Making allegations without research is not only irresponsible but also amounts to furthering the propaganda of the enemies. Pakistan is the first country to introduce a clear legal and practical framework on cryptocurrency.”
He said that the Crypto Council has been formed, and there are laws under it, while our adversaries are raising questions about this system and inciting malicious debate.
Atta Tarar also denied another rumor about Ishaq Dar and clarified that “describing him as a member of the Sugar Advisory Board is completely wrong.”
On a question about Aafia Siddiqui, the Information Minister said that the government is providing her diplomatic and legal support, and the efforts made by the current government for her release are unparalleled.
He also said that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s statements are being presented out of context, which is creating unnecessary ambiguity.
