Punjab’s War Against Smog Gets a High-Tech Upgrade
Lahore: Amid rising concerns over air pollution and smog in urban centers, the Punjab government has initiated the testing phase of Dust Separation Vehicles, an innovative technology aimed at cleansing the atmosphere.
Officials from the Environment Department revealed that these vehicles operate using mist fan systems and are capable of spraying fine water particles up to 120 meters into the air. This not only helps settle dust on roads but also aids in reducing overall particulate matter in the air.
“This step is part of the government’s long-term anti-smog policy and is expected to make a significant difference in urban pollution levels,” an official stated.
The move comes as Punjab battles seasonal smog that affects millions, particularly in cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala.
