A mixed day on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, 100 index down

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a mixed trend during trading on Wednesday; however, the market closed in the negative zone at the end of the day. The 100 index recorded a decline of 165 points, bringing the index to 139,254 points.

During trading, the index touched a high of 140,202 points at one point, but selling pressure prevailed till the end of the day. 650 million shares were traded in the market today, worth over Rs 32 billion.

Analysts say that local political uncertainty, global economic factors, and currency market volatility are keeping investors cautious, the impact of which is clearly visible on the market.
