Lahore: After the intensity of monsoon rains increased in most parts of the country, the Meteorological Department and rescue officials issued a nationwide alert in which the public wasstrictly instructed to be careful while traveling and stay away from dangerous places.
The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains are likely to cause landslides, uprooted trees, and overflowing rivers in the coming days. Officials said that tourists should postpone their trips to tourist destinations and be aware of the weather conditions.
All Rescue 1122, district administration, and security agencies have also been put on high alert to deal with any emergency situation.
The public has been appealed to stay away from rivers, streams, and open areas during the rains and contact local emergency numbers for immediate assistance.
