Peshawar: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has strongly criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and said that the Chief Minister should be aware because the province is gradually heading towards destruction.

Addressing a function in Peshawar, he said that the government is continuously neglecting the education sector, the quality of government schools has declined and the government’s lack of interest is a cause for concern.

He claimed that 70 percent of the country’s children are deprived of quality education while the universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also facing a financial crisis. Hafiz Naeem said that if we have provided IT courses to 10,000 children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, why can’t the government do the same?

He also questioned the government’s outsourcing plan, under which schools are being handed over to the private sector. He said that the government unites only for interests, no serious effort is seen for public welfare and education.

He said that if education is not given top priority, the coming generations will suffer from ignorance and poverty. Hafiz Naeem demanded from the provincial government to immediately carry out educational reforms so that the future of the youth can be secured.
