Lahore: An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in which major decisions were taken for the development of the province’s agricultural sector. During the meeting, in-principle approval was given for the launch of the second phase (Phase Two) of the ongoing projects of the Agriculture Department, under which interest-free loans worth Rs 100 billion will be provided to farmers. It was agreed in the meeting that these loans will be provided to small and medium farmers with convenience so that they can adopt modern methods and resources to increase agricultural production.

Maryam Nawaz issued clear instructions during the meeting that the model agriculture malls to be established in Multan, Sargodha and Bahawalpur should be fully functional by July 2025. Through these model centers, farmers will be provided with all facilities like seeds, fertilizers, machinery, training, marketing and financial assistance under one roof.
