Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that adopting cashless and digital transaction systems has become inevitable to bring transparency and efficiency to the country’s economy.
Chairing the weekly meeting on the promotion of a cashless economy, the Prime Minister directed that the relevant committees should formulate workable proposals in collaboration with the partners so that digital payments can be made popular.
The meeting was informed that the State Bank is working on a strategy to facilitate digital payments, while the Digital Economy Project has been started under the Digital National Pakistan project.
In addition, the e-stamping facility will also be introduced soon in Islamabad, and steps are being taken at a fast pace to complete the Digital Pakistan ID project.
