India’s water politics will fail; Indus Waters Treaty will remain intact: Prime Minister

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has made it clear that Pakistan will fully abide by the Indus Waters Treaty and will not allow any attempt by India to unilaterally withdraw from the treaty to succeed.

Speaking on the occasion of his visit to the National Emergency Operation Center, the Prime Minister said that the enemy country is conspiring to use water scarcity as a weapon, which will be given a befitting reply.

He said that NDMA played a key role in awareness of the dangers and timely measures after the devastating floods of 2022. The entire nation mourned the loss of precious lives in Swat, and we should rise above politics and examine the facts.

The prime minister directed the agency to compile a comprehensive report on the Swat tragedy and take swift steps to increase water reserves in the country.
