Lahore: The government of Pakistan has launched a mobile-friendly web portal, 8171.bisp.gov.pk, increasing the use of technology in BISP financial assistance, through which eligible women can check their eligibility and payment status from home.

The applicant can simply enter the CNIC number to find out whether the payment has been made or further action is required, and in case of possible complications related to biometrics or data, she is directed to visit the bank or BISP office.

The administration says that only those women can benefit who are stable in terms of PMT score and are not government employees, owners of unnecessary assets, or biometrically ineligible. If these criteria are not met, the portal automatically shows ineligibility. The aim of this facility is to increase transparency, timely provision of resources, and dignified financial assistance to vulnerable families by June 30, 2025.
