The prime minister sets up a high-powered committee to address concerns over the Finance Bill 2025

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reacted quickly to concerns raised by various quarters over the tax amendments introduced in the Finance Bill 2025 and has formed a high-powered committee.

The committee will be headed by the Federal Finance Minister, and its aim is to suggest safeguards that can prevent tax authorities from misusing their powers. The committee will include the Minister of Law, Minister of Economic Affairs, Minister of State for Finance, Special Assistant on Industries and Production, and Chairman FBR.

According to sources, the committee will submit its recommendations to the Prime Minister as soon as possible so that confidence in future budget measures can be restored and a strong policy basis for economic stability can be provided.
