President Asif Zardari congratulates Field Marshal Asim Munir

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated General Syed Asim Munir on being promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and appreciated his decisive leadership against Indian aggression. In a statement, the President said that the rank of Field Marshal is a recognition of General Asim Munir’s great service to the defense of the country, which the entire nation is proud of.

President Zardari said that Field Marshal Asim Munir and the forces of Pakistan deserve tribute for the effective response against the Indian attacks. He added that Pakistani forces under the leadership of General Asim Munir crushed the enemy’s ambitions and played a key role in making Pakistan’s defense impregnable.

The President also appreciated the leadership and strategy of Field Marshal Asim Munir in the ongoing war against terrorism and said that the entire nation values his sacrifices and services.

The President also congratulated the Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, on the extension of his tenure. He said that due to the war strategy of the Air Chief Marshal, Pakistan gave a befitting reply to the enemy on the air front, and the Pakistan Air Force shattered the dream of the enemy’s superiority.

President Asif Ali Zardari extended best wishes to Field Marshal Asim Munir and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, saying that under their leadership, Pakistan’s armed forces have become stronger and more organized than before, which is a guarantor of the country’s defense, security, and stability.
