President and Prime Minister pledge to protect the rights of workers on Labour Day

Islamabad: On the occasion of Labor Day 2025, tributes were paid to laborers across Pakistan. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in their messages, reiterated their commitment to the welfare of the workers. President Zardari said the government is committed to raising the dignity of workers, protecting their rights, and providing safe workplaces. He said the working class is facing challenges like inflation, unemployment, and climate change, for which the state needs to take steps for their welfare.

Appreciating the sacrifices of the workers, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the government is striving to make the local laws as per global standards for the welfare of the workers. He said the government would soon organize a national tripartite labor conference. To ensure the health and safety of workers in various sectors. The prime minister said the government is working on subsidy, social security, and poverty alleviation programs to reduce the difficulties of the low-income group.

Describing the workers as “stars of industry and knowledge,” Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the government was committed to improving the quality of life of the workers. She said that workers should be given adequate wages, protection, and respect.

On the occasion of Labour Day, various events, seminars, and rallies will be organized across the country, raising voices for the protection of workers’ rights and their welfare.
