Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced significant changes in the Child Registration Certificate (CRC) B Form. These changes include the addition of advanced biometric security features and further simplification of the online application process.
The new policy, which comes into effect on January 15, 2025, now makes it mandatory for children in the age group of 10 to 18 years to provide fingerprints and photographs to obtain the B-form. The initiative aims to make identity verification more effective and prevent crimes such as identity theft and human trafficking. The new B form will be mandatory for obtaining a passport, and the old B form without biometric data will not be acceptable for this purpose.
NADRA has also extended the online facility to enable parents to apply for B Forms for children below 1 year of age through the Pak ID Mobile App. The process includes uploading the required documents, taking a photograph of the child, and verifying the fingerprints of one of the parents. For children above 1 year of age, it will be mandatory to submit the application at NADRA registration centers.
There has been no change in the fee for the B form for the year 2025. An executive service fee of Rs 50 is applicable for normal applications and Rs 500 for urgent processing.
These steps reflect NADRA’s commitment to make the process of identity documentation in Pakistan more secure, modern, and effective.
