ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, in an important public message, has made clear his priorities to restore public trust in the justice system. He said that providing speedy justice in the Supreme Court is his top priority, and the last five months have seen unprecedented progress. During this time, 7,633 new cases were filed, while the Supreme Court has made the functioning of the judicial system more effective by deciding 11,779 cases.

The Chief Justice added that after the appointment of new judges, the cases will be decided at a faster pace. And if a person’s case is being heard in the Supreme Court, he should hope to get a decision based on merit soon.

Taking a tough stance against corruption, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi urged the public to immediately report if any person, whether official or non-official, demands a bribe or recommendation. He made it clear that they are following a policy of strict intolerance against corruption and nepotism and any kind of complaint will be acted upon immediately. Further, he assured the public that the name of the complainant will be kept completely confidential and every case will be dealt with with the utmost seriousness.

This statement marks a new era in the judicial system of the country, where timely delivery of justice, transparency, and integrity are being ensured. This resolve of the Chief Justice has created a new wave of hope among the people, which will further strengthen faith in the impartiality and effective performance of the judiciary.
