Pakistan rejects Indian Prime Minister’s remarks

Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly rejected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statement on Jammu and Kashmir, calling it misleading and contrary to reality. The Foreign Office spokesman said in his statement that such statements made by India are an attempt to divert the attention of the international community from the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
The spokesperson said that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is unresolved in accordance with the UN resolutions, and the Indian government’s unilateral statements cannot change this historical reality. He added that India should reflect on its illegal actions and human rights violations in occupied Kashmir instead of blaming others.
The Foreign Office made it clear that Pakistan has always been in favor of constructive and fruitful dialogue on the Kashmir issue, but India’s negative narrative is limiting the prospects of peace and cooperation in the region. The spokesman called on the international community to take notice of India’s irresponsible behavior and play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue.
