President Asif Ali Zardari ordered the PPP Punjab to prepare for the local elections and highlighted the water crisis

Lahore: President Asif Ali Zardari ordered the Punjab wing of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to prepare for the upcoming local elections, stressing the importance of timely elections so as to strengthen public representation. During a meeting with members of the provincial assembly, President Zardari said he and party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would personally oversee election preparations in Punjab and asked party workers to increase contact with the people and highlight their problems. President Zardari also expressed concern over the growing water crisis in Sindh and Balochistan and called for an immediate solution to the problem, which is severely affecting agriculture and daily life in these areas. He stressed that the water crisis has been repeatedly raised at various forums, but the issue is yet to be resolved.

In addition, President Zardari praised the dedication and performance of Governor Punjab Saleem Haider, describing him as a key figure in promoting development and stability in the province. President Zardari’s directives indicate that the PPP is focusing on strengthening its political presence in Punjab as well as addressing public issues, reflecting the party’s political readiness and commitment to address national challenges.
