Karachi: According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold surged by Rs 4,000 to achieve a new high of Rs 303,000 per tola as it surpassed Rs 300,000 per tola for the second time. Gold records show their second instance at surpassing Rs 300,000 values after reaching its peak at Rs 300,346 per tola on February 7. The domestic gold market followed an international upward trend when international gold prices increased by 42$ to 2,903$ per ounce.
The continuously increasing gold values demonstrate both economic instability and rising inflation, resulting in widespread investor and consumer interest in this valuable asset class.
