Finance Minister Announces Tax Reforms to Simplify System for Salaried Class

Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb presented reforms which would make tax simpler for the salaried class to relieve their tax obligations. The minister addressed a Senate Standing Committee on Finance meeting under Chairman Senator Saleem Mandviwalla to demonstrate government support for streamlining and simplifying the tax procedure.

The Pakistan IMF program enters its medium-term phase as Minister Aurangzeb has scheduled February discussions with all stakeholders. The FBR will split the policy from its organization during the upcoming fiscal year to reduce tax pressure on employees across the country.

Super tax affects only 30 to 40 percent of the population while authorities strive to make simplified tax forms for salaried people. According to the minister the government is developing a 10-year investor roadmap for capacity building because this area needed proper attention.

According to Aurangzeb most salaried earners are not subject to super tax legislation because the government strives to develop a fair tax structure that advances national economy and protects taxpayers.
