Faisalabad: In order to help the public, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has called for an immediate cut in energy rates and chastised the government for its lack of pro-people policies. Speaking to the media in Faisalabad, Hafiz Naeem emphasized that even though the government professes to be tackling economic issues, inflation is still out of control. He brought up the Interior Minister’s recent remarks regarding contracts with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), casting doubt on their ability to end the crisis. “Industries have been severely hampered by the rising cost of electricity. There is widespread unemployment as a result of the closure of numerous factories,” he stated.

Hafiz Naeem underlined that without reasonably priced electricity, industrial rebirth is impossible and urged immediate action to help both citizens and enterprises. The leader of Jamaat-e-Islami reaffirmed the necessity of laws that put the interests of the general public ahead of those of corporations.
