PSX business ends on a negative trend

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a bullish close on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, with the benchmark KSE-100 index gaining 779.34 points to close at 165,930.98 points. According to official market data, the index recorded a gain of 0.47 percent.

A total of 379.9 million shares were traded during the trading session, worth Rs21.28 billion. The total market capitalisation also increased to around Rs 18.385 trillion, from Rs 18.309 trillion in the previous session.

However, the overall trend in the market was not entirely uniform. In the ready market, the share prices of 225 companies increased, while the shares of 230 companies recorded a decline. This shows that despite the improvement in the benchmark index, several stocks remained under selling pressure.
