Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has reiterated its support for meaningful talks to reduce political tension. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has refused to consider Governor’s Rule or Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a solution to the problems and has urged all political parties to adopt the path of dialogue.

Talking to journalists in Charsadda, Barrister Gohar said that PTI is still ready for meaningful talks and hopes that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will play a positive role in resolving political issues. According to him, in the current situation, all parties should put their egos and stubbornness aside and sit at the negotiating table.

The PTI Chairman said that dialogue is necessary to end the political tension between the government and the opposition. He said about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi that he has not made any statement in support of terrorists.  Barrister Gohar clarified that his party stands with the state in the war against terrorism.

On the other hand, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, while talking to the media on his arrival at the Lahore High Court, said that his party will not be part of any plan that will result in the shedding of innocent blood or eviction of people from their homes.

Salman Akram Raja also announced the participation of a large number of convoys from Punjab in the long march. He criticized the alleged actions against PTI workers in Peshawar, claiming that several workers were kidnapped, which he condemns.

He said that PTI will remain steadfast in its political stance and will continue to struggle to protect the rights of the people. According to Salman Akram Raja, he is also fulfilling other party responsibilities, including the cases of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.

The statements of PTI leaders indicate that on the one hand, the party is supporting resolving political issues through talks, while on the other hand, it intends to stick to the long march and its political stance. The improvement in the political situation will depend on contacts and practical negotiations between the government and the opposition.
