Islamabad: The latest increase in petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan has once again increased the cost of fuel for the business sector. The new prices will be applicable from October 9.
As per the notification issued by the government, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 2.31 to Rs 398.96 per liter, while high-speed diesel has reached Rs 395.72 per liter after an increase of 78 paise.
Diesel is used in business activities, especially in freight vehicles, agricultural machinery and various industrial sectors. Therefore, even a slight change in the price of diesel can affect transportation and supply chain costs.
The increase in petrol price can have an impact on urban transport and businesses where the use of vehicles is an important part of daily operations. In this situation, businesses may have to re-evaluate their operational costs.
According to the Petroleum Division, new prices have been set by OGRA after changes in ex-depot prices. After the latest decision, fuel prices in the market remain at a high level.
