Islamabad: From the beginning of October, there is a possibility of further pressure on the domestic budget for consumers using LPG. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of LPG by Rs 20.68 per kilogram, increasing the monthly prices.
According to a notification issued by OGRA, the new price of LPG has been fixed for October 2026. The increase will especially affect those consumers who use cylinders for cooking or other domestic needs.
Under the new price, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder has increased by Rs 244.14. Thus, the new price of this cylinder has been fixed at Rs 3,296.23.
If the price increase is seen in the context of the monthly expenses of an average household, its impact is not limited to the per-kilogram rate. For consumers who use one or more cylinders per month, the overall cost will also increase.
LPG is an important source of domestic fuel in areas of the country where the pipeline network is limited. Many consumers also increase their consumption of LPG as winter approaches. In such a situation, the change in prices can affect household budget planning.
The rates fixed by OGRA are for October. Consumers in the market may also face differences due to local prices, delivery costs and other factors when making the actual payment.
After the latest increase, LPG consumers will have to keep a higher monthly budget for October than before. Especially for low-income households, even a slight change in fuel costs can affect the overall cost.
