Lahore: Successful Hajj pilgrims can now use the Pak Hajj app to change the duration, accommodation and other arrangements of their Hajj package. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced to provide various facilities online to pilgrims, which will allow them to complete the administrative steps of Hajj from home.
According to the ministry spokesperson, pilgrims can convert the long Hajj package into a short Hajj package and the short Hajj package into a long Hajj package. Two-bed, three-bed, family room and sharing options have also been provided for accommodation so that pilgrims can choose according to their needs.
The process of verifying the medical fitness certificate for Hajj has also been linked to the app. Pilgrims will first have to obtain a printout of the certificate and get it verified from an authorized doctor. After that, it is mandatory to upload the verified document on the Pak Hajj app or Hajj portal.
Pakistani pilgrims living abroad can also benefit from this facility. They will be able to obtain a medical fitness certificate from an authorized doctor near them and upload it on the app.
The ministry has also provided the facility to apply for a mahram or helper under the hardship quota. In addition, an option has also been added to the app for canceling the Hajj application for any unavoidable reason and for refunding the amount.
The provision of online facilities can help complete the administrative affairs of Hajj on a single platform. The aim of this initiative is to save pilgrims from frequent visits to offices and long waits. However, the options available for changing packages and accommodation may depend on the relevant rules and availability.
