Karachi: Despite the volatility, the Pakistan Stock Exchange remained bullish during the trading session, and the benchmark KSE-100 index closed at 170,765 points with an increase of 266 points.
The market witnessed continuous volatility due to the cautious strategy of investors during trading. According to market sources, developments related to the ongoing dispute between Iran and the United States affected investors’ decisions.
The KSE-100 index remained in the band of 1,269 points in the trading session. This shows that volatility continued during the buying and selling period in the market; however, the index managed to close at a positive level at the end.
A total of 480 million shares were traded in the stock market, worth Rs 19 billion. Trading in shares of various companies continued during the trading session.
On the other hand, an increase of Rs 25 billion was recorded in the total value of the stock market, after which the market capitalisation increased to Rs 18,996 billion.
Despite the increase in the market, investors’ attention was focused on the global political situation and its possible economic impact. Developments related to the ongoing tension between Iran and the United States may affect the trend of investors in the upcoming trading sessions.
