Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan has declared the reports circulating regarding the expiry date of the Rs 10 currency note baseless.
The central bank has clarified that no decision has been taken at this time to discontinue or replace the existing banknotes of any denomination.
According to the State Bank, the proposal to introduce a new series of banknotes is under consideration by the federal cabinet. However, no final decision has been taken regarding this process.
The central bank said that reports regarding any specific date for the replacement of the Rs 10 note are not based on facts. The public should verify information from official sources instead of trusting such news.
The State Bank of Pakistan has also refuted the speculations spread regarding the currency notes through this clarification.
