Islamabad: The government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, after which new prices of both the important petroleum products have been fixed in the country. The price increase has been implemented after the issuance of an official notification.
As per the government’s decision, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 5.58 per litre. After this increase, the price of petrol has reached Rs 364.35 per litre.
The new price will also be higher for those using high-speed diesel. The rate of diesel has been increased by Rs 4.18 per litre. The new price has been fixed at Rs 385.95 per litre.
The change in petrol and diesel prices has come at a time when transport, business and daily travel expenses are already the focus of consumers in the country. Even a slight change in fuel prices can affect transportation costs.
Petrol is generally the primary fuel for private vehicles and motorcycles, while high-speed diesel is largely used by freight vehicles, buses, trucks and various commercial activities. For this reason, changes in diesel prices can also affect business costs.
The new prices are expected to increase the monthly travel budget of citizens. Especially for those who travel long distances daily, the increase in petrol prices will have a direct impact on fuel costs.
On the other hand, the increase in diesel prices can also affect the cost of delivering essential goods. However, the overall impact of the price increase depends on various factors, including transport and other costs in the market.
According to the official notification, these new prices of petrol and high-speed diesel will remain in force until September 9. During this period, consumers will have to buy both products at the new fixed prices.
