Karachi – At the end of the trading day on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the KSE-100 index closed with a slight decline, while the KMI-30 index saw a slight increase.
The KSE-100 index closed at 181,310.28 points after a decline of 119.74 points. Trading had started at 181,989.96 points. During the day, the index reached a high of 182,347.51 points, while the low was 180,820.23 points.
The KSE-100 index recorded a total decline of 0.07 percent. The index’s share volume was 434.73 million. The index’s performance since the beginning of the financial year was 0.56 percent positive, while the KSE-100 recorded a growth of 4.17 percent during the calendar year.
In the market, PPL supported the KSE-100 the most and added 187.12 points to the index. ATRL added 107.75 points, MEBL added 106.43 points, OGDC added 104.50 points, while ENGROH added 67.57 points.
On the other hand, HUBC was the stock that put the most pressure on the index. HUBC’s negative contribution was 419.53 points. FFC gained 152.78 points, UBL gained 79.80 points, MARI gained 69.48 points while LUCK contributed 68.09 points.
Other key indices, KMI-30, saw a marginal increase. The KMI-30 index rose 73.46 points to close at 255,725.19 points. The index opened at 256,516.27 points and touched a high of 257,321.49 points during the trading session. Its low was recorded at 254,477.57 points.
The KMI-30 index gained 0.03 percent. The index’s share volume was 167.56 million. Since the beginning of the financial year, the KMI-30 has declined 0.62 percent, however, the overall performance of the index during the calendar year was 2.89 percent positive.
PPL was also a significant positive contributor to the KMI-30. It added 534.86 points to the index. ATRL added 308.02 points, MEBL added 304.23 points, OGDC added 298.71 points and ENGROH added 206.02 points.
On the other hand, HUBC had the largest negative impact on KMI-30 by 1,199.24 points. FFC added 295.19 points, MARI added 198.62 points, LUCK added 194.63 points while SYS added 73.13 points.
Overall, the market witnessed a mixed trend during the trading day. KSE-100 remained under pressure, while KMI-30 closed with a slight increase. Positive and negative activity in shares of various major companies affected the overall direction of both the indices.
