Karachi: The business week that ended on the Pakistan Stock Exchange proved to be encouraging for investors, where a significant increase in the total market value was recorded due to an increase in share prices. During the week, investors’ assets increased by a total of Rs 477 billion, which increased the market capitalization to Rs 19,755 billion.
According to weekly data, the benchmark KSE-100 index increased by 5,072 points and the index closed at 176,094 points at the end of trading. The index fluctuated between 174,612 and 179,123 points throughout the week.
Investor activity was also significant in the market, where 4.15 billion shares were bought and sold in just one week, while the total value of these deals was recorded at Rs 158 billion.
According to experts, the increase in market capitalization on a weekly basis is a sign that investor confidence is maintained and the trend of investment in the stock market is strengthening. According to them, if economic indicators remain positive, the market momentum can be maintained in the coming weeks.
