Iran Eases Stance in Bid to Revive Talks, Looks to Pakistan for Mediation

Karachi: Amid the ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East, there have been reports of Iran showing flexibility in the negotiation process, which is being seen as a possible attempt to reduce tensions in the region.

According to an American newspaper, Iran has softened some of its conditions to pave the way for a peace deal and has put forward a proposal through Pakistan. Iran has reportedly put aside the condition of temporarily lifting the blockade in order to revive the negotiation process.

Diplomatic sources say that Iran has for now excluded sensitive issues related to its nuclear and missile programmes from the negotiations, but the possibility of bringing these topics up for discussion in the future remains. This strategy is apparently adopted to achieve quick progress.

According to the report, Iran wants the US to ease sanctions in exchange for progress on these issues, which is considered important for its economic recovery.

Experts believe that the possible talks mediated by Pakistan could prove to be an important step in building confidence in the region. If this process is successful, it will not only reduce tensions but also improve diplomatic relations.

It should be remembered that the situation in the Middle East has continued to be complicated in recent months; in such a situation, the resumption of talks is being described as a cautious but positive development.
