Islamabad – Islamabad is once again becoming a center of global diplomacy, where new developments are being seen in indirect contacts between Iran and the US.

According to government sources, after the presence of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Pakistan and his talks with the mediation team, the second round of possible talks between the US and Iran may begin soon, which is expected to be hosted in Islamabad.

Sources say that the US delegation, which may be led by JD Vance, is likely to leave Washington tonight. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are also expected to join the delegation, while the US logistics and security team is already in Islamabad.

Earlier, Abbas Araqchi had also made telephone contacts with the Pakistani leadership. According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, his talks with Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir were held, in which the regional situation and issues related to the ceasefire were discussed.

According to the Foreign Office, the Iranian Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s positive and constructive role and both sides agreed to remain in close contact.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said on the occasion that continuous dialogue and diplomacy are the only effective way for lasting peace and stability, so that all outstanding issues can be resolved as soon as possible.
