Punjab Assembly Seeks Nobel Peace Prize for PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Munir

Punjab Assembly Nominates PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir for Nobel Peace Prize

Lahore – In a landmark session on Thursday, the Punjab Assembly unanimously passed a resolution calling for the world’s highest peace honor to be awarded to Pakistan’s top civil and military leaders.

The resolution specifically names Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir as candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize. This follows their successful “shuttle diplomacy” that helped facilitate a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, preventing a wider regional war.

The assembly commended the “highly effective diplomatic role” played by Islamabad, noting that the leadership navigated complex global tensions with maturity. The document also recognized the contributions of President Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, marking a rare moment of complete political consensus within the provincial house regarding Pakistan’s foreign policy achievements.
