Karachi – If you’re heading to the exchange counter today, the open market is telling a slightly different story than the banking screens. As of mid-morning on April 14, 2026, we’re seeing the usual retail “premium” play out, with a noticeable spread between what you’ll pay and what you’ll get back for your foreign currency.

The Big Players: USD and GBP

The US Dollar (USD) is holding firm at the top of the list, with a buying rate of 279.00 and a selling price of 280.05. For those keeping a close eye on the spread, that 1.05 PKR difference is a standard margin in today’s retail environment.

The UK Pound Sterling (GBP) remains the heavyweight of the board. If you’re looking to buy Pounds today, expect to shell out 380.64, while those offloading Sterling will receive 375.17.

Regional Powerhouses: The Middle East Tier

For the massive community of overseas workers and local businesses dealing with the Gulf, today’s rates are critical:

  • UAE Dirham (AED): Buying at 76.10, Selling at 77.20.
  • Saudi Riyal (SAR): Buying at 74.65, Selling at 75.55.
  • Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD): Continues to be the most expensive unit on the board, selling at a staggering 891.25.

European and Asian Outlook

The Euro (EUR) is showing a roughly four-rupee spread, selling at 331.05. Meanwhile, the Australian Dollar (AUD) and Canadian Dollar (CAD) are both trading in the low 200s, providing some stability for those with ties to those regions.
