ISLAMABAD – The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Tuesday officially notified a massive hike in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices for the month of April 2026. Effective from April 1, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs 78.28 per kilogram, bringing the new rate to Rs 304.11 per kg.
According to the official notification, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder has seen a staggering jump of Rs 923.71. Consumers will now have to pay Rs 3,588.59 for a domestic cylinder, compared to the March price of Rs 2,664.88.
The regulatory authority attributed this sharp 35% increase to the rising Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP) and global market fluctuations. While the US dollar saw a marginal dip, it was not enough to offset the $238 surge in international LPG benchmarks. This hike is expected to put immense financial pressure on low-income households and rural areas that rely heavily on cylinder gas for daily cooking.
