Karachi: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has released a special schedule for gas supply to consumers on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. According to a statement issued by the SSGC spokesperson, uninterrupted gas supply to consumers will continue from the night of the full moon today until 12 midnight on Eid-ul-Fitr so that there is no disruption in the preparations for Eid.
The spokesperson clarified that on the first and second days of Eid-ul-Fitr, gas supply will be available from 6 am to 12 am; however, gas will be shut off from 12 pm to 6 am. From the third day of Eid, a minor change has been made in the schedule, under which gas will be supplied from 6 am to 10 pm. Officials say that immediately after the Eid holidays, gas supply will be restored as per the old load management schedule before Ramadan.
SSGC officials have appealed to citizens to be careful in using gas in view of the increase in demand during Eid and to avoid unnecessary consumption. The company has further assured that the helpline and complaint centres will remain fully functional even during the Eid holidays so that immediate assistance can be provided to the consumers in case there is any emergency or technical malfunction.
