Pakistan, Kuwait to Transform Political Ties into Economic Partnership: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stressed the need to further strengthen the long-standing and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Kuwait, saying that now is the time to transform the political ties between the two countries into effective economic cooperation and investment.
Addressing a ceremony, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Kuwait have decades-old friendly and trust-based relations, however, transforming these ties into a practical economic partnership is the need of the hour. He said that the promotion of trade, investment and economic cooperation can directly benefit the people of both countries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the government is committed to exploring new avenues in the economic field in collaboration with the Kuwaiti leadership. He clarified that Pakistan is providing a conducive environment for foreign investors and Kuwaiti investors will be provided with investment opportunities in various sectors.
He added that joint projects in the energy, infrastructure, agriculture and industrial sectors can play an important role in stabilizing the economies of both countries. According to him, mutual cooperation will not only promote trade but also create new employment opportunities.
The Prime Minister expressed his determination that all possible steps will be taken to implement the common goals of development and prosperity and take the economic partnership between the two countries to new heights.
Experts say that strong economic ties with the Gulf countries can lead to an increase in Pakistan’s exports and foreign investment, which is very important for the stability of the country’s economy.
