Lahore: To ensure the safety of air travel, it has been decided to impose a strict ban on kite flying in the settlements around Lahore Airport.
According to airport sources, the Pakistan Airport Authority has issued special instructions to ensure the safety of flight movement. Officials say that kites and threads can enter the airspace and pose a threat to aircraft, which is why this step was inevitable.
The scope of the ban includes various blocks of DHA, canal banks and nearby residential areas. The decision was finalized after continuous consultations between the provincial and district governments last month.
According to the administration, no kite flying or related activities will be allowed under Section 144, while immediate arrest and legal action will be taken against violators.
Aviation experts say that banning such activities around airports around the world is a normal part of life as even a small obstacle can prove dangerous for flight. According to them, this decision is in line with international air safety norms.
