Islamabad (APP): For further funding under the Integrated Social Protection Development Program (ISDPP), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Pakistan have inked a $330 million loan deal.
ADB’s Country Director Emma Fan and Dr. Kazim Niaz, Pakistan’s Secretary of Economic Affairs, inked the deal.
The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is a program designed to improve and broaden Pakistan’s social safety net. It is a component of the continuous financial support provided by ADB to Pakistan’s underprivileged communities and to improve social welfare. It is anticipated that the extra funds will be essential in strengthening the current social safety net and provide targeted assistance to the poor.
