Islamabad: The federal government has released a complete schedule of government holidays during the year 2026 through the Cabinet Division, according The federal government has released a complete schedule of government holidays during the year 2026 through the Cabinet Division, according to which there will be public holidays on various religious and national occasions across the country.
According to the notification, Kashmir Day will be a holiday on February 5 and Pakistan Day on March 23 across the country.

There will be three consecutive days of government holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr from March 21 to 23. Similarly, public holidays have been announced for Eid-ul-Adha on May 27, 28 and 29.
All government and educational institutions will remain closed on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
National and Historical Days
The notification states that:
May 1: Labor Day
May 28: Takbeer Day
August 14: Independence Day
November 9: Allama Iqbal Day
December 25: Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas
There will be public holidays across the country on all these days.

Government officials say that the purpose of issuing the advance list of holidays is to facilitate the public so that they can plan their educational, travel and family activities in a better way.

According to the notification, these holidays will be applicable to all government offices, schools, colleges, universities and other government institutions.

Citizens have termed this decision as positive and said that a clear schedule will create order in business and educational activities.
